Graphite, charcoal and mixed media portraits.
Thank you for stopping by my site. It is my honor to share some of my art with you. I hope you like what you see.
I have been in love with drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. Through my young years, going on to graduate from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and now as an older man, I still love drawing. God has blessed me with some drawing ability, so it's only fair that I use it.
As a kid and growing into my college days and through my 20's, I wasn't sure what my place in the art world would be. There was a long period of my life where I wasn't sure what my style would be. I would emulate other artists and get frustrated that I couldn't draw like them. Because of this I had to practice more and work harder than I thought I would ever have to. For me, natural ability isn't enough. Being an artist is a perishable skill. It took some dedication, and a lot of trial and error, to find my style. While practicing these pencil portraits, I feel I have found a small part of it.
I am sure my art has many different ways and directions to grow and evolve further. But in the meantime, these pencil portraits sure are fun.
